The path from accountant to Chief Marketing Officer is not an obvious one for many, but for Lisa Sprouse, her journey at Premier led her to hold a variety of different positions that allowed her to become the strategic marketing executive she is today.
In 2013, Lisa joined the Premier team as a Corporate Accountant where she began changing the way accounting procedures were done at Premier. Throughout her time in accounting, her desire to understand the ins-and-outs of the company grew and prompted her to take advantage of an opportunity to make the move to the operations side of Premier. Lisa spent a period of time training at the executive level and helping to open operations in new markets across the country. With all of her newly acquired experience in the operations field, Lisa was promoted to Nashville General Manager, a role that had never before been held by anyone in the company.
Equipped with a new title and new responsibilities, Lisa worked tirelessly to optimize Nashville operations. Her success in this role allowed for increased levels of productivity and a streamlined system of operational processes throughout Premier’s largest market portfolio. Her unique ability to understand billing and accounting procedures, operational tasks, and client and customer communication tactics allowed her to see the company, and its role in the communities it served, through a unique lens. Her knowledge and experience in all facets of Premier paved the way for her to start thinking of ways to elevate the Premier brand.
Time and time again Lisa showed her ability to think outside the box and challenge the traditional ways of thinking. It was her dedication, experience, and creative approach to the mundane prompting her to become the company’s first female executive in the company’s then 15-year history. She was promoted to Vice President of Marketing in 2016, the same year she was named one of the National Parking Association’s Top 40 Under 40 leaders in the parking industry.
Never slowing down, Lisa began applying her expertise, in a variety of skill sets, to Premier’s marketing strategy. Various projects that she spearheaded include the launch of the Premier Parking mobile app, the redevelopment of the company website, custom signage programs (most notably the #shortywannaparkwithme signage campaign that can still be seen today), creative projects through community partnerships, and the initial creation and enhancement of the company’s social media platforms.
Her success in the role as VP of Marketing was evident and it was not long before she was promoted, yet again, to Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) in 2019. Lisa has been in this role since and has continued to inspire those around her to think differently and challenge the status quo.
Lisa is a Certified Parking Professional (CPP) – industry specific credentials earned through the National Parking Association. In 2016, she was named one of the National Parking Association’s Top 40 Under 40 industry leaders and was a recipient of the Brett Harwood Leadership Scholarship. Lisa is a member of International Parking Institute, National Parking Association, and Women In Parking. In 2018, she became a member of the NPA Education Committee, and was elected as co-chair of the NPA Young Leader Network (2018-2020).
Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership, earned at Middle Tennessee State University, and an Associates of Science in Business and Commerce, earned at Volunteer State Community College. She currently resides in Nashville, TN with her husband, daughter, and their three dogs.
